Shop Dust Pan
I knew a woodworker who claimed that sweeping up at the end of the project should be considered the most rewarding task- the finale. He used a handmade dust pan created from an old motorcycle fender, painted blue with a polished wood turned handle. It hung on the wall of the shop, and while producing work into his late-seventies, it had been a fixture for him spanning decades. Personally, I don’t get excited to sweep up nor do I find it rewarding but I do appreciate the quietness and low stakes of sweeping dust in contrast to making it.
